The Fiat Uno, Gerry and Car SOS. Turbo story so far…… 

Unfortunately, this is a bit of a sad story. The previous owner of the car, Gerry, owned it for over 30 years, clocking up just over 60,000 miles in total. He adored the car; however, due to declining health, he was getting to use it less and less. Eventually, it ended up under a car cover on the drive for a number of years, and it did not fare too well. Fortunately, due to the brilliant friends and family Gerry has, they got in touch with the guys at ‘CarSOS’ to see if they wanted to restore new life into his incredibly rare Fiat Uno Turbo.

CarSOS said yes and embarked on a quite remarkable £30,000 full restoration of the car from the ground up! All rust was removed and new metal put in, the engine fully rebuilt and refreshed, and the incredibly rare and sought-after Hormann body kit was saved and finished in its original gunmetal grey paint, which we think looks stunning.

CarSOS were not finished there, though. Seeing as this was their 100th car on the show, Tim Shaw had an idea to have some custom-made Alloy Monoblock wheels specially cut for the car, paying a little homage to the original Cromodora polished wheels. We think he has absolutely nailed the design, and they look incredible on the car.

Unfortunately, even after this work was done, it hasn’t stopped Gerry’s health from declining further, and with an incredibly heavy heart, he has had to sell the car. We have agreed to give a portion of any profits made on this competition to Ashgate Hospicecare.

We hope you love the car. We’re not sure anyone could love it as much as Gerry did, but hopefully, we find a winner who will come close!
